This was where he found his best mate for life- the Sandai Kitetsu Sword. The vendor has warned him of discretion as the sword was cursed with strong and dark powers. However, it was much later in the story that these dark powers began to surface. During his fight with Kaku in Enies Lobby, Zoro lost all control over his calm.
He got so angry that even the CP9 has to back off from Nico Robin. However, Zoro was quick to channelize his anger into a final move. This was the first time readers witnessed the 9-sword style demon Ashura attack. Fans were quick to notice that the demon residing in the sword was not just trapped in it. Instead, it had the capability to charge out any time it was penetrated.
