Ascendance Of a Bookworm is a light fantasy novel. It is Miya Kazuki’s work, while the illustrations are done by Yu Shiina. In addition to the two seasons, a two-part OVA episode is also included in the franchise. Ajio-do Animation Works produced the anime counterpart. The latest installment will have a new character and a gripping story of book-smart Myne’s struggles. As she pursues her goal of creating new books, a ton of adventure awaits.
Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3: What Is The Plot?
Previously, as seen, Myne was determined to create and publish her books to read. But the next season opted for a new storyline. The second installment focuses on Myne’s sickness, the Devouring. It means that she has a huge amount of “mana” or magic inside her. The power could consume her if not appropriately controlled. This leads Myne to an apprenticeship as a priestess and accesses a huge library. Season 3 will follow the storyline in the process.
Now that the old priestess is fired, Myne is the new director of the orphanage. With this, she has established a firm hand in the paper and the book-making business. The third season will showcase Myne’s role in the kingdom. Her involvement in politics and social aspects due to Ferdinand is growing more and more. However, Myne isn’t a huge fan of this and doesn’t want this to happen. Additionally, her bond with family and friends will be at risk. The following season will tell how Myne manages it all at once.
Cast & Crew Updates!
The makers of Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3 recently released their first trailer for the upcoming season. It focuses on Myne and her life in the new fantasy world. The clip also introduces a new character. It is seen that Sylvester is a new cast of the series. Furthermore, a veteran voice actor, Kazuhiko Inoue of Tokyo Ghoul and Naruto, will voice him.
The cast of the last installment will also be reprising their roles. The names include Yuka Iguchi once again as Myne. Show Hayami is playing Ferdinand whereas, Megumi Nakajima is Tuuli. Lastly, Fumiko Orikasa is voicing Effa. So the cast is hereby ready to star in the new release.
The staff of the series is also coming back with a new member this time. Haruka Matsunae is joining as the third character designer after Toshihisa Kaiya and Yoshiaki Yanagida. Furthermore, the series is a Mitsuru Hongo’s direction, whereas Ryouka Kinoshita is the art director. The editing falls under Tomoki Nagasaka. Lastly, MICHIRU handles music.
Ascendance Of A Bookworm: Release Date
The makers haven’t been specific with the date of the upcoming release. But a spring 2022 release has been confirmed. The date got delayed due to the pandemic, but fans won’t have to wait much longer. Crunchyroll has aired both seasons till now. However, the English dub of the series tends to release months after the premiere in Japan. So the overseas fans might have to wait a little longer. We will update the release section once it’s out.
