Birdie Wing Anime: Additional Cast & Staff Announced! Release Date

Although sports-themed anime are popular, it is rare to find one with women in it. One such rare find is Bandai Namco‘s newest project, The Birdie Wing Anime. Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story is a new sports-themed anime about two women golfers. Since it is an anime about golf, it is a huge risk. People might end up loving or hating it. But since it’s a fresh take on women golfers, it might attract many viewers. The interesting concept can save the anime and make it a hit.

Birdie Wing is a fresh story centering around two female golfers. Takayuki Inagaki of Desert Punk fame will direct the series at Bandai Namco Pictures. A recent announcement has confirmed additional cast and staff working on the anime. Additionally, a promotional video was released along with the announcement. Birdie Wing Anime: What Is It About?

Birdie Wing is a unique sports anime about two women golfers. The story is set in Nafres, a fictional European Country. And follows Eve and Aoi, two very different women equally passionate about golf. Though they both are entirely different, both girls have one thing in common: golf. The fate of the girls changes after a chance encounter between them.

Eve is a talented golf player of the ‘Rainbow Colored Bullet’. She bets to earn money for survival. She is street smart and is a natural at playing golf. On the other side, there is Aoi Amawashi. Aoi is the complete opposite of Eve. She is a polished, professional golf player. She is an Elite member of a large sports corporation. Like Eve, she loves to golf with all of her heart.

Cast, Staff And More Updates!

Birdie Wing Anime’s website announced the project in October. A follow-up announcement unveiled additional cast and staff members on December 7, 2021. Bandai Namco is animating the series. Takayuki Inagaki is going to direct the anime. Then, Yousuke Kuroda will work on the script. He previously worked on the hit anime, My Hero Academia and Mobile Suit Gundam 00. The new cast members are Ami Koshimizu, Akira Sekine, Toru Furuya, and Shuichi Ikeda. They will be joining Akari Kito and Asami Seto.

However, as it is a sports-themed anime, it needs professional supervision and assistance. Hence, a professional golf coach Toru Inoue will oversee the anime’s production. Furthermore, Toru Inoue will bring his experience as a Junior World Golf Championship coach to help with the anime. In addition, Bandai Namco is producing the anime with Global Golf Media Group.

Birdie Wing Anime: Release Date

Birdie Wing Anime was first announced in October 2021. As of now, the anime is still in production. Well, the anime requires additional attention to golf it could take time.
