For years, the creators of the kawaii comedy anime have been teasing us with the possibility of Demi-chan wa Kataritai Season 2. However, none of the companies related to its production have officially renewed the sequel. This has left many fans confused and desperate to know if there will be more episodes of Demi-chan wa Kataritai Season 2. What’s in the anime’s future? Will it ever make it to the screens? Here’s everything you need to know.
Demi-chan wa Kataritai, popularly known as Interviews With Monster Girls, originated as a manga series written and illustrated by Petos. It began serialization back in 2014 and has continued for a total of eight volumes. The most recent one came out in February 2020. Meanwhile, famous animation studio A-1 Pictures picked up the story for an anime adaptation. It aired around Japan between January and March 2017. Whereas, the episodes were streamed internationally through platforms like Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and Netflix.
Demi-chan wa Kataritai Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?
Over the years, many speculations have claimed the confirmation of the sequel. In fact, it was reported that anime’s director Ryo Ando revealed that the team is getting ready for another round. Later on, rumors claimed that A-1 Pictures had also shown interest in the production of Season 2. However, sadly, no official announcement about the renewal has arrived yet.
Hence, it is still hard to say if Demi-chan wa Kataritai Season 2 will ever make it to the screens. However, chances for its return are quite high. The anime received mostly positive reviews from viewers and critics and proved to be a commercial success. Moreover, its popularity rose soon after it landed on Netflix and Hulu. Thus, it is very unlike for such a show to get canceled.
Besides, it’s common for anime to take longer to return. Even well-known anime like Psycho-Pass and One-Punch Man have four to five years of gaps between seasons. Hence, Demi-chan wa Kataritai Season 2 might take longer to release too. Keep an eye on this corner for all future updates.
Is There Enough Source Material?
The Interviews With Monster Girls manga series currently has a total of eight volumes. However, A-1 Pictures only used the first four volumes for the first season. Hence, the studio still has enough source material to continue the anime. Demi-chan wa Kataritai Season 2 is likely to adapt the next four manga volumes.
Interviews With Monster Girls Season 2: Release Date
Even though A-1 Pictures is yet to renew the sequel, chances for its renewal are still pretty high. As per current circumstances, a late-2021 release date seems most likely. We will update this section with the official date once it is announced.
