Now, another film is on its way to reaching the fans. Many fans speculate that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie will continue the story of the anime series. Dragon Ball Super Anime: Producer’s Clip Sparks Renewal Rumors
The official website of Dragon Ball brought exciting news to the fans. The clip features the executive producer of the Dragon Ball franchise, Akio Iyoku declaring the release date of the upcoming film. The video is in Japanese. However, a Twitter user has provided a subtitled version of it. In addition, the editor also hinted at another project apart from the movie. So, it is likely that the immensely popular series is making a return after all.
Now that the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie has confirmed its release for spring, fans are discussing what it could mean for the future of the franchise. Plus, the final words of the producer confirm that this year has more to bring from the franchise. This is not all since, in a recent interview, Akio Iyoku has stated that something is coming for the fans of Goku. So, fans are almost clear that the series is in the making. However, an official announcement is yet to reach.
Is There Enough Source Material?
With a movie currently on its way to reaching the fans, the series creator of the DBS franchise also said a few words about its content. Akira Toriyama finds the film to be ‘incredible’ and especially loves the animation style. He states he is very pleased with the new art style of the picture. The Dragon Ball Super series concluded the Universe Survival Saga in 2018. So, the movie might resume the plot.
Currently, the Dragon Ball Super manga has published Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga while also reaching an end of the ongoing Granolah the Survivor Arc. Both of the sagas are yet to receive an anime adaption. Plus, not much is known about the next DBS project. An OVA or a TV special might be in the works. Till now, nothing is certain. However, fans are sure that a series is coming their way, considering the previous patterns of releases of the franchise.
Dragon Ball Super Anime: Release Date
Since the makers are yet to make the news official, a prediction of the release date at the time of writing is a bit tough. It is, however, clear that the details will be out once the Super Hero film premieres which are on April 22, 2022. So, if an update is revealed by this summer, a 2023 release seems like a possibility. Keeping this in mind, with the long length of source material, a total of 140-150 episodes are left of DBS.
