As reported by Variety, Legendary Television, a part of Legendary Pictures, Dynamic Television, France Televisions, and Hulu Japan are adapting the popular manga series. French actress Fleur Geffier and Japanese actor/singer Tomohisa Yamashita will headline the series. With this new international production, the series is being turned into a movie for the second time. In 2009, Kazuya Kamenashi, of the band Gokusen, starred in a Japanese TV series adapted from the book.

What Is The Anime About?

Shizuku Kanzaki, a young Japanese man, travels to France after the death of his father, a well-known wine critic. He had a strained relationship with him, as depicted in the original manga. Upon his arrival, Shizuku discovers he must collect thirteen fresh bottles of wine. The last of which is called “The Drops of God,” in order to inherit his father’s huge estate.

Issei Tomine, a young wine reviewer and the prodigy of Shizuku’s adversary, stands in his way. Even though Shizuku is angry at his father and Tomine’s love of wine, he takes on the challenge and works hard to become an expert sommelier.

Drops of God Live-Action: Release Date

Kodansha’s Drops of God manga may be read in English scanlation form on Comixology. For Amazon Prime members, the series is also available for free on the Kindle app and devices. Moreover, in 2023, all eight parts of the series will be shown on TV. And online at the same time all over the world. The release date was not specified in the announcement.
