Nexus animation studio picked up the manga and produced the first season of this anime. Its premiere episode aired on January 3, 2020. Whereas, the show had an impressive run of eleven episodes before concluding on March 21, 2020. These eleven episodes were not enough for its fans, and now they are demanding Darwin’s Game Season 2.
Manga Compared To The Anime
As we mentioned above, the Darwin’s Game anime series is an adaptation of the manga of the same. The first season followed the manga faithfully, but its pacing was a bit too fast. The anime also reduced the focus of its story and featured only critical moments and characters. But the anime also didn’t leave any chance to add more details. It featured an original character named Hamada. Besides, it was necessary for the studio to compress the story so that it can fit in the episodic format.
The first season of the anime used a total of 30 chapters and found its stopping point at Volume 8. The great thing is that the author has already released 23 books in the series, and more will come out soon. Therefore, Nexus still has a lot of source material to use in Darwin’s Game Season 2. The studio can even make two more installments of the series with the remaining books.
Darwin’s Game Manga to End Soon
The illustrator Yuki Takahata and the writer Shu Miyama commonly known as FLIPFLOPs, revealed that the manga series is in its final stages now. They revealed that the manga already entered its last story arc back in January 2020. Besides, its last arc even started in Volume 22 that came out in December 2020. So, it is likely that the authors will now release only one or more two volumes. However, they didn’t reveal the total number of volumes for Darwin’s Game manga. But the possibility is very high that they conclude the series with its 25th volume. They will likely announce it officially in the next few months.
Darwin’s Game Season 2: Renewal Status
The anime series is crazy popular and got a tremendous response from everyone. It made a lot of fans in a very short time and received great reviews from them as well. The show’s premise is quite unique as it is not just an ordinary Isekai anime that transports the people in the game world. Everything in this show happened in the real world. Darwin’s Game Season 2: Plot Details
By the end of the anime’s debut season, the viewers saw Kaname in the middle of the jungle. It is the same place where the hunting game will begin. In the first season, the viewers also get to know how to completely end the game. The player has to kill its organizer first before destroying the D-Game. Now, Kaname has a goal in his mind, and he will lead the Sunset Ravens, which consists of Rain, Ryuuji, Shuka, and Sui. They will work together to end the D-Game. Danjou Boxing Club will also help them as they have the same goal as well.
Darwin’s Game Season 2 will likely feature Kaname reaching out to other large clans in Kansai regions to form a new alliance. He will make some collaborations as he has a goal to create an A1 player. Sunset Ravens are now under the monitoring of Japan, and CIA agents of the USA are investigating the D-Game. During this process, one of them meets their demise. After that, a member of a clan named Age lab will come forward to investigate the entire scene.
Darwin’s Game Season 2: Release Date
The release date of the anime’s second season depends on the time it receives a green signal from the makers. The production of this kind of shows takes a lot of time. So, it will likely at least one and a half years after the beginning of its development. If the officials renew Darwin’s Game Season 2 by the end of this year, fans can expect it to premiere in the second half of 2023.
