It turned out that the real identity of the man was Anji Toni. And he was one of the members of the Hijikata crew.
But a shootout took place between these two crews. And Toni could not do anything to resolve the matter. In the second half of the episode, the story took a leap of a few days. Toni was unable to survive such a winter with all those injuries. Thus, he passed away. In the end, Tsukishima came to know that the meaning of the phrase ‘Barchonak’ was ‘Spoiled Rich Kid.’
