So, will it ever return? Here are all the latest details.
Hitori Bocchi, aka, The ____ Life of Being Alone, is a slice-of-life comedy anime series. It is the remake of a four-panel manga series of the same title by Katsuwo. HitoriBocchi Season 2: Renewal Status!
C2C Animation Studio produced the first season of the anime series. While it was a hit amongst fans, the series also impressed critics from around the world. Despite its good performance, the production company isn’t currently planning to renew Hitori Bocchi for its second season. Fortunately, they haven’t canceled the sequel either. Besides, it is normal for makers to renew anime after a gap of two or three years. Hence, there is still some hope that the show will return for another run.
Is There Enough Source Material?
As we mentioned above, this show follows the four-panel manga series of the same name. Therefore it is important for the makers to have enough chapters in order to make another installment of the anime. The first season followed the plot till Chapter 46 of the fourth volume of the manga series. Katsuwo has released a total of seven volumes so far. Moreover, he also revealed that the manga series would end serialization in April 2021. Hence, it is likely that he will release one more volume. If that happens, C2C Studio will have more than enough source material to make HitoriBocchi Season 2.
HitoriBocchi Season 2: Will The Anime Ever Return?
The first season of this comedy anime series has a pretty decent score of 7.51 on MAL. The viewership and the ratings of its debut installment were equally impressive. Plus, the makers also have enough source material to make the following season. Hence, there is no reason for the makers not to renew the show. They will eventually green light HitoriBocchi Season 2. However, it is still uncertain when they will make it official. But there are chances that this announcement will most likely arrive after the release of Hitori Bocchi manga’s next volume.
