Apologies in advance if you hate the casting choices for Demon Slayer. But it is always thrilling to think how anime will look if they were ever made in live-action. With Disney coming up with live-action releases of popular classics almost every year, it is clear that nostalgia is pretty bankable. At the same time, there have been some anime that have gotten a live-action remake. For example, Death Note and Ghost in the Shell have come and gone with no significant effect.
Today, we tried to become casting directors ourselves and cast a bunch of A-listers for an A-lister anime, Demon Slayer. We hope that you will sovereignly agree to disagree with the choices. Moreover, if you have better suggestions, you can always reach out to us. So, here is what happens when Hollywood actors are cast as Demon Slayer characters.
Josh Hunterson Tanjiro Kamado
If you imagine the persona and stature of Josh Hunterson, there are chances that you will find a resemblance with Tanjiro from Demon Slayer. Joshua has the perfect resting innocent face that we need in the protagonist. Moreover, the lack of seriousness is perfectly what we need for someone to be Tanjiro. Besides, it will be wonderful to watch Josh slay the classic checker green attire of Tanjiro.
Natalie Dormer as Nezuko Kamado
Fans have seen Natalie Dormer play only quirky and mischievous characters in the past. However, despite that, we believe that she will rock the character of Nezuko. This character, in particular, demands someone who can pull off action, grace, and innocence all at once. We have seen Natalie play all three in separate roles. If the Demon Slayer live-action is ever made, do pass on our suggestions to the casting director.
Tom Holland as Zenitsu Agatsuma
Yes, this is an insane choice. But nothing is lost in imagining Tom Holland as the scared little Zenitsu with hidden potential as a great warrior. The fun and energy that Tom Holland brings to any project are exactly what we require in the actor who should play Zenitsu. Most of the time, this little boy is downright annoying and creepy. His pervy actions will best suit our new spider man! Tell us what do you think about the idea? Should Tom be a part of the Demon Slayer Cast?
Jack Gleeson as Hashibira Inosuke
Bring Back Joffrey! That’s right, it’s been so many years since we last saw Jack Gleeson on the screen. The boy who played the most hated character of all time with utmost ease is nowhere to be seen. Now, it is high time that he gets to play a loved yet villainous character. And, frankly, there is no better character than Hashibira Inosuke for him. The angry young man with a baby face can ace the character of Inosuke in Demon Slayer Live-Action if it ever gets the green flag.
Mads Mikkelsen as Muzan Kibutsuji
The first time fans saw Muzan Kibutsuji on Demon Slayer, they were taken aback by the etiquette and decency of the villain. Later, when we finally see the man in action, it becomes clear what lurks behind these looks. Can you also think of Mads Mikkelsen as the potential choice? Well, the man has played many villainous characters in the past, and he has a strong CV of convincing antagonistic roles. Let the make-up department do the magic and witness the best villain casting choice ever!
Liam Hemsworth as Kyojuro Rengoku
This might sound like an odd casting choice but trust us. When you see the tall man all dressed up and Rengoku, you will be lauding us with praises. Rengoku is a character that appears for a short period of time on the screen, but he leaves a big impact. With an affinity for good food and a strong sense of justice, the character became an instant favorite for many fans. Let’s hope the choice of Liam Hemsworth in the Demon Slayer cast looks good once on the screen.
