Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Official Announcement
On Saturday, a character introduction video was revealed at the Jump Festa 2023 event. Moreover, the release date for the upcoming season has also been announced. Fans at the venue and fans streaming the event online could catch a glimpse of the redesigned key characters for this new season. Junya Enoki and Nobunaga Shimazaki also gave extra details about season 2 onstage.
The visuals at the event showed five key characters who will be appearing in the new arc. As a promotion of season 2, a Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition will also be taking place in March 2023, which will tour across Japan. Nobunaga also mentioned that he intentionally changed his voice to depict a younger Gojo to the best of his efforts and abilities.
Plot Details
The first half of the new season will adapt the “Gojo’s Past” arc. It will take the viewers back to the year 2006 and will focus on young Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. Following the “Gojo’s Past” arc, the second season will return to the present day of Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kubasaki. The season will then adapt the “Shibuya Incident” arc. The upcoming season is also set to adapt the “Kaigyoku” arc. Season 2 will be action-packed and probably follow what is happening in the pages of Akumi’s manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Release Date
The second season of the anime will debut in July 2023. The anime will air on MBS, TBS, and 28 other channels in Japan. Crunchyroll had previously streamed the anime to international viewers. However, streaming for fans worldwide has not been announced yet. Moreover, The Jujutsu Kaisen smartphone game is also set to release in the spring of 2023.
