Jujutsu Kaisen reached another level of popularity after the release of its anime earlier this year. As a result, a lot of people began to read its manga as well. At the same time, the manga featured its longest and the most intriguing arc, titled “Shibuya Incident Arc.” The fans thought that it would be very difficult for Gege Akutami to create an arc better than the Shibuya Incident arc. However, the author surprised them by revealing a new deadly tournament arc known as “The Culling Game arc.”
It is not a typical shonen tournament arc, as it came with a lot of twists and turns. It will be quite different from other arcs, as Gojo Satoru won’t be around to save his students this time. In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 143, it was revealed that every single guy involved in a Jujutsu world had to participate in the Culling game. It is not simple as it sounds because this tournament is a deathmatch with several rules, and everyone here is performing for themselves.
Culling Game Rules
Every single person that is involved in the Jujutsu world has to take part in the Culling game. Despite one’s conditions, they have to participate, or else they’ll be killed. After revealing these details, Chapter 143 of Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended by revealing the complicated rules of this game. Initially, only eight rules were introduced, but the latest chapter added one more rule and increased its total to nine.
Rule No. 1
According to the very first rule of the Culling Game, the players must declare their participation at a barrier of their own choice within 19 days after awakening a cursed technique. All the awakened sorcerers had to enter one of the ten colonies. Since these awakenings took place on October 31, the players had to declare their participation by November 19.
Rule No. 2
Any player or curse user who breaks the first rule of the Culling Game will be subjected to the removal of their cursed technique. This rule doesn’t mean that the player won’t be able to use cursed techniques. The removal of the cursed technique is a process that tampered with the brain of a user and ultimately leads them to their death.
Rule No. 3
If any non-player enters any barrier at any moment will become a player of the Culling Game at the very moment of his entry. Anyone’s arrival inside the barrier will be considered as the one’s participation in the deadly tournament. However, if a civilian is already present inside the barrier, they will be given a chance to leave it.
Rule no. 4
If any player has to score points in the Culling Game, then they have to end the lives of other players. There is no other way to score points, so if one has to survive the tournament, they must kill the other players.
Rule no. 5
The points system is determined by the master of the game, and it indicates the value of a player’s life. The life of sorcerers is worth 5 points, whereas the life of non-sorcerers is worth 1 point. It is also possible for the administrator, Kogane Shikigami ton assign different points depending on the situation.
Rule No. 6
Any player can use 100 points excluding the point value of their own life and ask the game master to add a new rule to the Culling Game. A sorcerer can negotiate when they have 105 points. This rule is the most intriguing one of the Culling Game. It gives power to the players to make their own rules.
Rule No. 7
In accordance with the sixth rule, the game master can accept any new rule proposed by the player unless it will have a long-lasting effect on the Culling Game. That means the players won’t be able to add a rule that will interrupt the tournament.
Rule No. 8
If any player’s score remains the same for a total of 19 days, then this player will also be subjected to the removal of their cursed technique. That means even if the player successfully clears a barrier, he just can’t rest because he needs to move his score in order to survive the Culling Game.
Rule No. 9
The very first rule is to be added by a player of the tournament. Hajime Kashimo added the ninth rule, and according to this rule, the players will have information such as names, colonies, and points of other players. Therefore, now any player can track the location of their target and plan a sneak attack.
