Kemurikusa is an original Japanese sci-fi fantasy anime series. It is an adaptation of an ONA series of the same name that ran from 2010 to 2012. Yaoyorozu animated the first season of this series. The anime made its debut on January 9, 2019. Whereas, it ran for a total of twelve episodes before concluding on March 27 of the same year. The first season of the anime series was pretty interesting and managed to catch the attention of the viewers. Its story was really intriguing and was certainly its strongest point. The three sisters’ journey of survival in a post-apocalyptic world turned out to be better than the fans expected. As the anime progresses, it becomes more and more enjoyable. The setup of Kemurikusa perfectly matches its story.
All the main characters of this series are good enough and have depth. However, the only disappointing thing about the anime was its visuals. The quality of its art and animation was not up to the mark. Some of the viewers also complained that the build-up for its main story was a little slow. As a result, that part becomes quite dull. Overall, the anime is good, and it could be even better only if it has good animation.
Kemurikusa Season 2: Renewal Status!
The debut installment of the anime received a positive response. Both viewers and experts criticized this show for its cheap quality visuals. Except for that, everything about it was fine. At the time of writing, the show has a score of 7.07 on MyAnimeList. Whereas, it currently has a total of 24.9K members in its MAL group, and it will soon reach the 25K mark. So, the series is moderately popular as well.
Also, the conclusion of the anime’s debut season was open-ended. Hence, there is a lot left to show in Kemurikusa Season 2 as well. However, the only problem is that its production studio, Yaoyorozu, no longer exists. Kemurikusa was its last production before dissolving in the debt of 8 million. Therefore, the second season of the anime-only takes place if any other studio comes forward and picks up the show.

It seems like its fans have to wait for a long time to see the anime’s second season. If the demand for the sequel increases, some other studio or a streaming platform like Netflix might pick it up.
