Kingdom Season 4: Renewed!
Right after the third season of the infamous Chinese period drama anime came to a halt on October 17, 2021, the makers seized the opportunity to announce their next venture. The official website of the anime took no time to thank its fans for loving and supporting the third installment. The website noted that Kingdom Season 4 would return soon enough. The note mentioned that the season was under production. Moreover, the official social media handles of the anime also shared a poster visual of season 4.
Plot Details!
In broad strokes, the story of the Kingdom revolves around the life of a slave boy named Xin who rises from the bottom of the pyramid to become the prime commander in Qin Kingdom’s army. His mentor and guardian are Ying Zheng, the newly crowned king of Qin. With a dream to conquer all of China, he begins occupying nearby territories one by one. Hence, a series of wars and rebellions follow along the trail.
The third season followed the Coalition Army Arc of the manga. Most of the season documents the events of the Battle of the Hangu Pass. King Zheng went to War against Li Mu’s army. At the beginning of the battle, Li Mu suppressed Zheng’s power and cornered the army into Xianyang. However, the course of War turned around when Zheng inspired the common people of Zui to fight for them. The season ended with Li Mu’s shameful retreat to the homeland.
Now, Kingdom Season 4 will continue the Coalition Army arc of the story. This particular arc is one of the longest acts of the story. Less than half the story was covered in the previous season. Close to around a hundred chapters still remain in this arc to be covered. Even after this, seven tedious arcs will still remain in Yasuhisa Hara’s original text.
Kingdom Season 4: Release Date
The formal statement by the makers confirms that the new season of the anime is set to release next year. According to the update, Kingdom Season 4 will release in Spring 2022. For the time being, the streamer of the season has not been decided. But the digital streaming partner is most likely to be Funimation.
