Is Knights of Sidonia not releasing this month? As the entire world sees extended lockdowns and emergencies due to the ongoing pandemic, many businesses are suffering huge losses. One of the hardest-hit industries is entertainment. With people refraining from visiting the theatres, the movie business has faced huge monetary loss due to this. Another story in the row of delay in the face of a pandemic is ‘Knights of Sidonia The Star Where Love is Spun.’

Knights of Sidonia is an anime adaptation of a 2009 manga series of the same name by Tsutomu Nihei. This popular manga is now turning into a film franchise as well. The first film in the series was about to release this Friday. However, sadly, because of the ongoing emergency in Japan, the release of the film has been delayed. Let us look into the matter and see for further developments.

Knights of Sidonia Movie Delayed!

Tsutomu Nihei’s Knights of Sidonia film has been delayed in the face of an extended emergency period in Japan. A premiere stage event was also in process this Saturday in the celebration of the film’s release. Unfortunately, both the release and the event are canceled for now. The film was previously about to open in Japanese theatres on May 14 this year.

Along with Knights of Sidonia, the ‘Wani Lived For 100 Days’ movie is also facing an uncertain release. Wani Lived For 100 Days is the anime adaptation of Yuuki Kikuchi’s 100-nichi go ni Shinu Wani manga. Looking at the health emergency period, the release of this film was also stopped and later delayed. The film was previously about to release on May 28.

The story of Knights of Sidonia is based on the original works of Tsutomu Nihei. Well, the film would take a certainly different part from the manga and feature only the best elements from the original material. The first four minutes of the film were also out on YouTube as a promotional event.
