The day of July 18th marks the two-year anniversary of the Arsan attack that took place at the Kyoto Animation Studio. Two years ago, the original studio of Kyoto Animation was set on fire. The attack was allegedly an atrocity of an unknown arsonist. After the attack, the company tragically lost more than 36 employees and workers. Twenty-four months later, the studio is still struggling to cope with the losses after the attack.
All of the anime industry was shaken after the news came out. Many big names came forward to offer help, support, and condolences for the lost souls. Moreover, now that the trauma is finally recovering after two years, the company is planning a small event to remember the victims of the arson. Thus, the official website of Kyoto Animation has some announcements for the viewers.
A Memorial Event: New Commercials!
The official website of Kyoto Animation states that they will be commemorating the strength and support of the survivors of the Arson Attack. In the same chain, the company will be releasing a special program on their website, which will be a tribute to the heroes. Moreover, a one-minute silence will also be a part of the show to remember the souls that are no longer with us. The statement also asks fans not to visit the previous office of Kyoto Animation. This is because they wish to keep the sanctity of the place.
Gifts, presents, and flowers are also out of the list for the fans. Initially, Kyoto planned to do a live stage event, but digital was the only option in light of the pandemic. The company is also running new commercials that depict the loss and the hope that follows. Do watch the two event ads on the official YouTube channel of KA.
