Laid-Back Camp is a popular manga by Afro that made a debut back in 2015. The manga is currently running with 12 volumes. The story was later adapted in an anime series by C-Station Studios in 2018. In fact, it became so popular that an additional television series and a television drama were also released. Now, Laid-Back is getting a reboot once again!
The announcement came on Friday through the official website of Laid-Back Camp. The statement majorly talks about the Blu-ray Disc sale Laid-Back Camp Season 2. But along with the sequel, the show has a little surprise for us. So, let us see what is in store for us this season.
Laid-Back Camp: New OVA Release Date!
After the release of Laid-Back Camp Season 2 in January this year, C-Station is ready with the third edition of the Blu-ray Discs. The hard copies will be out for sale from July 28, 2021, . Moreover, along with the second season, the disc will also include a brand-new OVA. Additionally, the title of the new animation is “Traveling Rin Shima,” which will explore the adventures of the titular character.
Moreover, the website shares a number of screenshots from the new OVA. The addition of a new arc through OVA will definitely attract more customers. Hence, this smart ploy from the makers can boost the sales of the third stock. Here is the sneak peeks from the new video:
All About Laid-Back Camp
The original Laid-Back Camp anime series follows the story of Nadeshiko and Rin, who cross paths at the hills of Motosu. Nadeshiko is a tourist who has come to see Mount Fuji while Rin is a lone trekker. The story is a visual treat as it explores the beauties of the mountains in the most realistic way. Thus, follow Rin and Nadeshiko as they wander through the routes of Fuji and encounter new threats every day.
Besides the mainstream anime series (two seasons), Laid-Back Camp has also seen numerous OVAs and spin-offs. The most popular amongst them remains the Heya Camp series from 2020. Moreover, a live-action series also came out in 2020.
Upcoming Projects
After seeing success in all forms of ventures- manga, anime, live-action, and OVA, the franchise is all set to enter the film business. That’s right, the new project that C-Station is working on is Laid-Back Camp The Movie. The announcement came back in October 2018. Fortunately, the film will be premiering the next summer in 2022.
