The case of the renewal of Miraculous Ladybug Season 5 is very confusing. In official terms, neither Disney nor any of the companies associated with the show have announced the renewal. When Is Miraculous Ladybug Season 5 Coming Out: Jeremy Zag Confirms Date
At the time when Season 4 was under the release radar, Jeremy Zag, the producer of the show, had some interesting news about the fifth season. In January 2018, the creator posted a poster of the anime on his Instagram account. The caption of the post read that both Season 4 and 5 are coming back. He confirmed that both the seasons had been ‘renewed’ and ‘greenlighted for production.’ Since the time of this post, many staff members have released a similar statement. But an official announcement is yet to come.
In 2017, the Miraculous Event turned out to be a big hit. In the panel discussions, the producer of the show made a note confirming the production of Season 5. Sébastien Thibaudeau confirmed to the readers that both Season 4 and Season 5 were under production at Toei Animation and Gloob.
What Will Happen In Season 5?
Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is an original story created and developed by Thomas Astruc. After Qilin, the fifth season will pick up the plot in a different setting. Thomas had revealed in the Hashtag Festival 2021 that the location will change from Paris to the Agreste Mansion Kitchen. Since the fourth season had no room left for any more arcs, it was decided that this setting will be shifted to Season 5.
So, Season 5 is set to start with the Agreste Family Arc. Since the nemesis character did not get enough development in ‘Gabriel Agreste,’ it is possible that a long-stretched arc will be dedicated to the character and his origins. In Miraculous Ladybug Season 5 Episode 1 conflicts of his family and their collisions with the main characters will be the crux of the next arc. Post this, fans are expecting to see Adrien’s villain arc in the same season.
Returning Characters: Miss Rose, Lady Lion & More
The same five-year plan chart also confirmed four new characters would be appearing in the near future. This includes Lady Dragon, Miss Rose, Lady Lion, and Lady Butterfly. Of these four, Lady Butterfly has already been confirmed to appear in the Brazil Special. Moreover, fans had already seen Lady Dragon in the Shanghai Special in April 2021. Is The Production Complete?
Judging by the fact that Season 5 has been in production since 2018, it can be assumed that it has already completed most of the work. This has also made way for the sixth season to come. However, Toei Animation has not confirmed any detail of the productions as of yet. It has only been the producers who are confirming the news.
Miraculous Ladybug Season 6 And 7 Also Renewed!
In the same CCXPWorlds event, the sixth and seventh seasons of Miraculous were also confirmed. Greenlighting this information, creator Thomas Astruc took to Twitter to confirm that Miraculous Ladybug Season 6 and 7 were also up for renewal. Despite the uncertain release date of Season 5, the next two parts have also been confirmed. Since all these releases were creating a hefty schedule, Chikara released a brief timeline of what the plan until 2024 was.
Starting with 2022, the London Special of Spring 2022 will be followed by Miraculous Ladybug Season 5. Somewhere in-between Season 5 and Brazil Special, makers will find space for an Africa special. The official poster states a Fall 2022 release. However, specials are bound to get rescheduled. So, season 6 is slated for a 2023 release, and the seventh installment will come out in 2024. Miraculous World: Brazil Special Confirmed
The CCXPWorlds event of Brazil, The Miraculous World Brazil Special outing saw a confirmation by the makers. In addition, the release details and the plot updates were also a part of the reveal. Also known as the Rio de Janeiro Special, the new special is slated to come out before Miraculous Ladybug Season 5. The most attractive announcement of all was the reveal that Lady Butterfly will be staring in special. Miraculous Ladybug Season 5: All Release Details
According to the five-year plan released by Chikara, seasons 5, 6, and 7 are up for yearly releases. However, the projects are already running on a delay. Thus, it will be difficult to predict the accurate release dates of Miraculous Ladybug Season 5 and other specials. As of the latest updates, the fifth season will be coming out in the Summer of this year, which is June 2022. But before this, Gloob is planning to air the Brazil Special in the Spring 2022 slate.
