As per the official synopsis, the story of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers takes place in a high school setup. The story revolves around a third-year student named Jirous Yakuin. In order to pass the third year, he must pass a couple of practical examination that deals with finding a female partner. Akari Watanabe turns out to be her partner. But things do not go as per their plans.
In order to make things work until the examination, they must live together in the same apartment. None of them have any romantic feelings for the other person. But both of them have the shared goal of partnering with their crushes. Thus, the arrangement is done with. But will these two get feelings for each other in the meantime?
