After seeing that BETA was ambushing all those lost, he was in quite a trauma. But this could also be the point where he can bring a change in the way things had been taking place.
There might be a lot of loopholes in the system. Thus, the only way for him to win in this situation that he puts more effort into the training parts. And Yuko assigned them the task of practicing some exercises so that they could present their capabilities to XM3. Soon enough, the first round commenced, and all of them were able to show immense hard work. Takeru felt proud of himself and thought that he might be able to make a change within the timeline.
But the aces were in no form to lose these battles. Thus, they started using hypnotic means to win. In the last act of the story, Takeru could barely give them a tough fight. He couldn’t even survive the battle. In the final act, Takeru saw that BETA had already ambushed Marimo and also chopped her head off.
