1. Beastars
One of the most interesting anime titles, the Beastars is based on the manga series of the same name written by Paru Itagaki. The resemblance to the famous Zootopia is uncanny. This Netflix original anime series features a predator and a prey.
Tensions continue to rise between the predator and prey while an alpaca, student of Cherryton Academy is murdered. On the other hand, the timid wolf, Legoshi has to control a new set of complicated feelings for a dwarf rabbit called Haru.
2. Fruits Basket Season 2
The Fruits Basket is a remake of the 2001 anime series based on Natsuki Takaya’s manga series of the same name. So far, season one has been very interesting which is why viewers are so eagerly looking forward to a second season. The series has made a comeback with another season in 2020.
Well known for its vivid characters, Fruits Basket has been a dependent on the shoujo genre for quite a long time. Season 2, aired in April is available on Crunchyroll and simultaneously dubbed on Funimation just like its first season.
3. Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045
The newest addition in the Ghost in the Shell franchise, SAC_2045, is Netflix’s 3D CGI take on Major Motoko Kusanagi and the rest of Section 9.
While the animation style is completely different from the early adaptations of author Masamune Shirow’s seminal manga, some loyalty has been shown to previous works, for example, the main voice cast of the 2002 Stand Alone Complex will return, including Koichi Yamadera as Togusa, Atsuko Tanaka as Motoko Kusanagi, and Akio Otsuka as Bato.
According to Netflix’s summary, the series features older members of Section 9 as they seize the appearance of a “Post-Human,” a living creature with extreme intelligence and physical abilities.
4. Bleach
The Bleach anime first aired in 2012 and recently it has been reported that it will be returning on Netflix in 2021 with an adaptation of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. In April 2020, seasons 4 and 5 arrived and are called The Assault and The Bount respectively.
There are a total of 16 seasons, while season 17 is coming next year. Thus, hopefully, we will have 1 – 16 on Netflix by the time of the next season’s release. As of now, seasons 1 – 5 are available on Netflix.
5. Violet Evergarden
It is a very light anime full of life lessons and message of goodness. A girl named Violet Evergarden is an orphan child who was working for the army because of her extraordinary fighting skills. But she was only used as a weapon. Violet lost both her hands after the war. She started working as an Auto Memories Doll, whose tasks was to write letters of the people with correct emotions and send them to their loved ones.
However, Violet didn’t feel much emotions. Now she is seeking to understand the meaning of the words ‘I love you’ which were said to her by a person she holds dearest. Will she ever be able to understand it?
