The animation studio, Doga Kobo, who produced the inaugural season of the anime series, is quite busy nowadays. The studio has a handful of projects that they need to complete before working on other shows. They already announced Osamake and Selection Project to release this year. Along with these, they are also working on Mobius Dust, My Senpai is Annoying, and Shikimorie’s Not Just A Cutie. Therefore, it will be very hard for them to produce another full-fledged anime series this year.
Gekkan Shoujo: Plot Details
The plot of this show revolves around a girl named Chiyo Sakura. She is a cheerful high school girl who has a crush on his classmate Umetarou Nozaki. The latter is the author of a famous manga titled “Let’s fall in love.” So, when Chiyo confesses her love to Umetarou, he mistakes her for a fangirl, and in response, he provides her an autograph. When Chiyo says she wants to be with him, Umetaoru invites her to his house and helps her with drawings. Later, in order to get close to him, Chiyo agrees to work as her assistant. Both of them work on the manga series called Let’s Fall in Love. They meet some of their other classmates as well, and they also help Chiyo and Umetarou with the manga.
Nozaki Kun Season 2: Will The Anime Return?
The anime series got a tremendous response from the critics upon its arrival. Every single major platform has mostly good reviews about this show. ANN even considered it as one of the best shows of the season. Gekka Shoujo has a great score of 7.93 on MyAnimeList and is ranked at #144 in popularity on the same platform. Not only that, but the manga series is also very popular, and the arrival of anime boosted its sales as well. However, its inaugural season ended on a conclusive note. A lot of source material is still available, but the production studio already used all the exciting moments from it. The ending of the first installment didn’t leave any loose threads to tie in Nozaki Kun Season 2. Therefore, despite its popularity and demand, it is unlikely that makers will ever renew a sequel of the anime.
