Previously in One Piece Episode 1031, Uta complained about Luffy’s training methods to her father, while Makino thanked her for keeping him busy. However, Uta replied that she was only protecting Shanks by playing with Luffy to stop him from annoying him. Soon Luffy entered the bar and asked Shanks to join his crew. But Shanks swiftly refused it, and Luffy started throwing tantrums. Uta threw Luffy out of the bar, and Shanks revealed that he was leaving for Foosha Village.
