The title of the forthcoming episode of One Piece is “Desire to be Oden! Yamato’s Dream.” As the name suggests, the next episode is likely to delve into the past story of Yamato. The son of Kaido has spent most of his life away from home. After Orochi and Kaido executed Oden, they also took prison a young Yamato. However, the brave child escaped his trap and fled the country. Living alone under the fear of getting caught built a grudge within him against his own father.
After several years of training and living as a rogue, Yamato returned to Onigashima in hopes that he could serve justice to the lost leader. In One Piece Episode 992, Yamato narrates his back story to Luffy while they fight. His story will eventually lead to Luffy trusting the perpetrator. Later, Yamato will reveal that he wishes to become like Oden one day. And he can only do that by killing Kaido.

In the 991st episode of One Piece, Nami and Big Mom got into a row over Zeus. While Big Mom was fighting Usopp and Chopper, she sidelined both of them and charged straight at Nami. However, Nami anticipated the attack and ran away as soon as she noticed Big Mom approaching. Later, Luffy and Yamato continued to flee from Page One and Ulti. On their way, Yamato picked up Luffy in the hopes that it would make them run faster. However, Luffy ordered her to put him down immediately.
Yamato denied the order and kept running. In response, Luffy attacked Yamato and escaped her grip. On the other hand, King and Marco continued to attack Big Mom’s fleet as they did not want her to enter through the ONigashima Gates. By the end of the episode, Luffy and Yamato get into a serious fight. Yamato asked Luffy to remember who the real enemy was.
