One Piece Live-Action: Plot Details!
As of the last update, there has not been any confirmation on the official synopsis of the One Piece Live-Action. During the initial announcement of the series, it was revealed that One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda would be working on the scripts of some of the episodes. Being the head of the writing team, he has mentioned certain bits from the upcoming plot. So, it was revealed that the first episode of the Live-Action series will be titled “Romance Dawn.”
In the OP manga, Romance Dawn is the second arc of the story. This particular plot is included in the East Blue Saga of the story. The second arc tells the story of Luffy’s quest to his Devil Fruit. Luffy’s journey from being a normal boy to a well-known pirate is laid out in this storyline. It is expected that the follow-up storyline will continue with the origin of all the members of the Straw Hats.
Who Will Be In The Cast?
Aside from the announcements at the Netflix Japan Festival 2021, the content platform is also keeping up with the updates on its long-term projects. All the social media accounts of the platform revealed the cast details of the One Piece Live-Action series. One Piece’s official Twitter page also welcomed the cast members in the Straw Hats team. So, the cast includes Iñaki Godoy in the lead role of Monkey D. Luffy. Pacific Rim fame Mackenyu is cast as Luffy’s friend Zoro. Along with him, Emily Rudd is playing Nami.
Moreover, Jacob Romero Gibson is playing the role of Usopp. Lastly, Taz Skylar will be playing the role of Sanji. This concludes the cast members. Their looks are yet to be revealed by the production company.
One Piece Live-Action: Release Date
The latest update only focused on the cast of the upcoming series. Nothing was mentioned about the release window of the project. However, it is known that the production of the show is lined-up for the coming months. Several leaks have pointed out that the series will finish shooting in about a year. Thus, the release time of later 2022 or early 2023 seems appropriate. However, nothing is certain as Netflix already has its hands full till the following summer.
