Pokemon Kids Tv, an official Japanese Youtube Pokemon account that posts content for young children has recently posted something quite thrilling. A new Pokemon cartoon that is similar to Fleischer hand-drawn animation style has debuted. It seems to be a cartoon from the 40’s and is referred to as a “Poketoon.”
The first episode shows Scraggy (or Zuruggu in Japanese) and Mimikyu, and the title is ‘Chase the Beans’. Even though the plot isn’t very exciting, but it looks impressive and completely different from regular Pokemon anime.

Inspired by the Loony Toons, the debut of Poketoons surprised a number of fans, and they are obsessed with it. The shorts show Scraggy and Mimikyu who go on some humorous adventures with an art style nostalgic of those classic cartoons.
This was a queer experiment especially after much of the experimentation from the rest of the franchise. Plus, the anime has seen several shifts lately with the main series as well as with shorter web series like this and Pokemon: Twilight Wings.
The shorts were an amazing surprise for fans who are wondering if any more are planned. Fans are impressed even though they don’t know whether this was the first in a lengthy series of web shorts or a one time deal, fans are impressed in any case.
To see the views of the fans, read on. We have included posts from fans who loved Poketoons.
