Back in August this year, Studio Madhouse announced the anime adaptation of the popular crime drama series Police In A Pod. The anime had been in demand ever since the manga came out. However, at the time of the initial announcement, very little was revealed about the series. Police In A Pod Anime is based on the comedy manga of the same name. Better known as Hakozume: Kōban Joshi no Gyakushū in Japan, the manga is the original work of author Miko Yasu. Kodansha has published all the eighteen volumes of the manga. Now, it is time for Studio Madhouse to stand up to the same ground.

According to the official synopsis by Crunchyroll, the story of Police In A Pod Anime revolves around a young police recruit named Kawai. It had been Kawai’s dream since childhood to become a police official. But after experiencing the job first hand, her desires about the work changed. The series kick-starts with Kawai being indecisive about quitting her job. On the day when she was about to hand in her resignation, she met a new lady officer.
The new trainer takes Kawai on a life-changing mission where the ladies explore the crime world first hand. Most of the plot of the anime revolves around Kawai’s change of heart about the work of the police. So, the newest trailer of Police In A Pod Anime dictates the exact same story in two minutes. Cast & Crew Updates!
The staff of Police In a Pod anime includes Yuzo Sato as the director of the series. The writer of the manga, Miko Yasu, is the creator of the series. Moreover, Ryunosuke is credited as the head of the scriptwriting department of the show. Kei Tsuchiya is in charge of the character designs. Other staff members include Itaru Ishida as the assistant director, Kisuke Koizumi as the sound director, and Mariko Tsukatsune as the project’s editor.
The majority of the story only involves three main leads. Thus, the main cast of the anime includes Shion Wakayama in the lead role of Mai Kawai. Besides her, Yui Ishikawa is playing Seiko Fuji. Lastly, Kana Hanazawa will be seen as Miwa Makitaka.
Police In A Pod Anime: Release Date
The latest trailer of the new series gave away the release schedule of the anime. Initially, the makers had teased a Winter 2022 release slate for the show. They have retained that slate and announced a tentative date of January 2022. A solid release date is yet to be confirmed by the studio. We will be sure to update this section accordingly.
