Since Ranma had little knowledge about it, Ryoga decided to help him. He only aimed to injure him on the stage so he would lose the battle. Ryoga wanted Kodachi to win the bet and steal Ranma from Akane so he could stay with the latter. The following day, Akane and Ranma were greeted by Kodachi, who had already set traps.
