Bokutachi no Remake is a slice-of-life light novel series by author Nachi Kio. The nine-volume novel series released the first book in March 2017. In November 2018, the author launched the manga in the franchise. Later in July 2021, Studio Feel released the first-ever episode of the anime adaptation. Now, fans are looking forward to a second season.
Remake Our Life Season 2: Renewal & Production Details
As of now, there has been no official news about the renewal of the sequel. However, the studio has also not confirmed the speculations of the cancellation. The critical reception of the anime series has been considerably good to seek a renewal. On IMDb, Remake Our Life Season 1 gets a 7.2 rating. The series has been rated 7.7 stars. Thus, with such high ratings, the renewal decision would not be as difficult for the makers. It is only a matter of time before the studio announces production details of Remake Our Life Season 2.
What Will Happen Next?
The first season of Remake Our Life deals with a time-leaping story of a game maker. Hashiba Kyoya is a middle-aged man who works at a game developing company. However, nothing worked in his favor. From career to personal life, Kyoya watched it collapse in front of his eyes. In the second episode, when Kyoya was lying on this bed looking back at his life choices, he wished he could change the past somehow. The next morning, he wakes up ten years in the past when he was still in college. The rest of the story dealt with how Kyoya learned the hard lessons of life.
The protagonist went from being an arrogant and lazy young boy to a mature and responsible man. By the end of the season, Kyoya completed his journey in the past and understood the mistakes that he made. In the final episode, Keiko takes him back home and tells him how he leaped in time. However, she also explained that his time journey is not over yet. This time around, Kyoya will travel eleven years back and undo the mistakes that he and his team have been making.
In Remake Our Life Season 2, Kyoya and Keiko will travel back in time once again. This time, the story’s concern will shift from Kyoya to other team members. Kyoya will learn that Shinozaki is struggling to keep up with her motivations. Thus, his first mission is going to be to inspire her. Later on, he will get back to members of the Platinum Generation to erase his mistakes and settle the differences with the game makers. Thus, the sequel is going to bring challenging beats up head Kyoya.
Is There Enough Source Material?
Remake Our Life anime was a unique show as it adapted the story directly from the light novel instead of the manga. This is because the manga was still serializing at the time of production. Thus, to ease the story-building process, the author of the light novel joined the team of writers. With his help, the adaptation could cover the first four books of the series. The light novel has a total of nine volumes. Thus, if the next twelve episodes also need around four volumes of content, the source material will still be left with enough volumes for special OVAs as well.
Remake Our Life Season 2: Release Date
For the time being, there has been no official confirmation of the release of the second season. Neither the studio nor any staff member has announced a tentative schedule of the sequel. However, if the anime resumes production in the coming winter slate, it would not take the studio too long to animate a twelve-episode season. Thus, fans can expect to see Remake Our Life Season 2 in the Winter 2022 slate at the earliest. We will be sure to update you with any update as soon as it comes out.
