The story of the anime series revolves around a restaurant named The Western Nekoya. It is located in an ordinary corner of an undisclosed Tokyo shopping district that offers several Japanese versions of Western dishes. It opens throughout common business hours and remains closed during holidays and weekends. However, it also opens secretly on Saturdays. On Saturdays, it produces doorways to another world populated by elves, dragons, animal men, and many other strange creatures. These creatures come to the restaurant and eat its exotic food, with many of them growing regular clients.
