Shō Harusono’s popular romance manga Sasaki and Miyano is finally getting an anime adaptation. The announcement of the anime project took place back in November 2020. Since then, fans have been desperately waiting for a first look at the show. Sasaki and Miyano is a boys’ romance story of 7 volumes that first came out in 2016.
Pixiv Comic has been serializing the manga series for the last five years. After the massive success of the spin-off manga Hirano to Kagiura, Shō Harusono joined hands with Studio DEEN to bring a television anime. The project is finally around the corner now. Moreover, a team of able staff members is working at Studio DEEN to make a classic show. Thus, here is everything to know about Sasaki and Miyano Anime.
Sasaki and Miyano Anime: Plot & New Visuals
The synopsis of the manga describes the plot to be a classic high school romance. The story follows Miyano, who is one year senior to Sakasi in high school. While Miyano is the popular boy of his school, Sakasi is a rather shy person. Fate plays the part and brings them together for a task. As time passed, Miyano falls in love with Sasaki. But their differences are the biggest hurdles in the way of this romance. The rollercoaster love story makes up for the plot of this beautiful tale. Check out the new photo here
The latest visual is a character design of the protagonists Sakasi and Miyano. Both the characters look pretty similar to the original manga design by Shō Harusono. The readers of the original text are very happy with the first look of the anime product. Let’s hope the feedback is also positive after the show releases.
Cast And Crew
The official website of Sasaki and Miyano has updated the page of the anime details. The new update reveals the names of team members that will be working at Studio DEEN. Well, Log Horizon fame director Shinji Ishihira is on board to direct the show. Whereas, Takahiro Ueno will be assisting Ishihira on the project. Moreover, Yoshiko Nakamura will be the show’s composer. Along with them, Maki Fujī will be handling the character designing department.
The casting details were also made public through the website. For a start, we can expect to see Yūsuke Shirai in the lead role of Shōmei Sasaki. Along with him, Sōma Saitō is playing Yoshikazu Miyano. While Yoshitsugu Matsuoka is cast for the role of Taiga Hirano, we’ll also see Yūma Uchida voicing Masato Hanzawa. On the other hand, Ryōhei Arai and Yūki Ono are playing the roles of Tasuke Kuresawa and Jirō Okasawara, respectively. Lastly, Mitsuhiro Ichiki is cast as Gonzaburō Tashiro.
Sasaki and Miyano Anime: Release Date
For now, neither Studio DEEN nor the television networks have come up with a solid release date. However, the makers do have a tentative date for us. So, Sasaki and Miyano anime adaptation is all set to release in the year 2022. If we go by the regular release cycles of shows, we can expect to watch SAM by mid-2022.
