Plot Details
The first season Scarlet Nexus dealt with the futuristic events of the year 2020. An authorized governmental paramilitary team learns that the world is threatened by the wrath of human devouring creatures known as Others. As a result, the government forms the Other Suppression Force in order to locate and eliminate these creatures. Yuito was a young boy when he was saved by this team years ago. Thus, he also dreamt of becoming a soldier who saves the common people from the Others. The other elite member of this team is Kasane, who joined the gang ages ago.
She was recruited at a young age because of her prodigal abilities. However, the truth begins to turn and mold as Yuito and Kasane take over more and more cases. By the end of the season, Kasane and Yuito learn dark truths about the organization they are working for. As they moved forward with the cases, it became increasingly difficult to distinguish between friend and foe. In the penultimate episode, Kasane and the team learn about the design children and invite them to their cause.
As they escape from Togetsu, they find the next hideout at Kagero’s place. There, the team came to the conclusion that the government is hiding sensitive information about the lunar immigrants. They also learned that a secret Ark is hidden within the basement of the headquarters. In the next season, fans can expect to explore the lunar immigration arc in more detail. While the corrupt government will fall in this season, there is much history within these offices that the show is yet to explore.

While most anime series are adapted from light novels and manga anthologies, Scarlet Nexus draws the story from Bandai Namco’s video game of the same name. Thus, the chronology and order of the story are branched into multiple arcs. Beyond the Togetsu Arc, the game has endless possibilities for a story. Even the first season was developed with a large portion of the original storyline.
