Sword Art Online debuted back on July 8, 2012, and soon in 2014, it came with the second season. But the franchise took a break to return with a movie titled Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. Tomohiko directed the movie, and later the show returned with the third season that ran from 2018 to 2019. It gained a massive following, and the audience loved the cinematography.
Sword Art Online Season 4: Official Announcement
The Sword Art Online anime has recently revealed that they will reveal new information about the newest project on the show’s 10th Anniversary. The franchise will reveal the new information in a live stream on Niconico Live Broadcasting which will take place at 8 pm JST. The announcement was made on Twitter. It has been announced that the presenter Chaki Matsuzawa will join the live stream. Matsuzawa had previously joined them to announce a death game in Sword Art Online: Progressive– Aria Of A Starless Night’s commercial.
But unfortunately, the studio hasn’t revealed anything about Sword Art Online Season 4. In fact, it announced that the 10th Anniversary would take place on May 27, 2022, at 8 pm JST. Back in late March, the show revealed some of the projects that will be revealed on the franchise’s 10th Anniversary. These include Sword Art Online Selection, The Art Of Sword Art Online, Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown, Sword Art Online: Progressive- Aria Of A Starless Night Blu- Ray/DVD, and Sword Art Online: Progressive- Scherzo Of Deep Night.
Sword Art Online Season 4: Plot Details
In the third season finale, Rinko called Kirito and revealed that Alice had gone missing. So she rushed to see Rinko. But the postman interrupted him and left a huge box with Rath Insignia in front of the door. When Kirito opened the box, she discovered that Alice was inside it. However, Alice lost her calm after seeing Kirito, and they both indulged in a fight where Alice won. But at night, Alice visited Kiriko to tell him about the cryptic mail she had received. They discovered that the mail had something to do with the underworld.
Later, Alice, Asuna, and Kiriko connected to the IP address they found that took them to the human empire of Cardina. But before they could figure out what was wrong, two giant spaceships appeared out of nowhere. The trio helped the pilots to fight a giant monster. Once they kill the monster, the descendants send the trio back to Cardina. Now in Sword Art Online Season 4, we will see what will happen with the trio. It will eventually deal with their new journey. There everyone will treat them as heroes.
Sword Art Online Season 4: Release Date
The animation studio has yet to renew the fourth season. So it’s quite tricky to guess when the show will return with the fourth run. But currently, the franchise is working on another anime film titled Sword Art Online: Progressive- Scherzo Of The Deep Night, which will air in the fall of 2022.
