The Irregular At Magic High School anime adaptation will follow the Reminiscence Arc of the novels. The new series was originally announced in February 2021. So, the story takes place three years ago in Okinawa. Miyuki and her family are going on vacation. But she isn’t happy to learn that her brother will also be there. This is because Miyuki was never comfortable around Tatsuya, as she felt he never expressed his emotions.
But everything changes for her when unknown dangers begin to haunt them. Due to Tatsuya’s weaker magic, her family treated him as a servant. They never treated him as an equal. As a result of this, he became Miyuki’s personal guard. As the series progresses, Miyuki learns that Tatsuya is misunderstood for his powers. Thus, she begins trusting him, and they both warm up to each other. In fact, Miyuki even promised Tatsuya that she would follow him to the world’s end.

The Irregular At Magic High School Reminiscence Arc’s official website announced the anime’s main cast. The announcement was made in an online event by the makers. The announcement confirmed four cast members. Thus, the cast of the new outing includes Yuichi Nakamura as Tatsuya Shiba. Along with him, Saori Hayami will be playing Miyuki Shiba. Kikuko Inoue will be seen as Miya Shiba. And lastly, Aya Endo is joining the cast as Honami Sakurai.
In addition, Risako Yoshida will be returning to direct the anime. Jimmy Stone will be working as assistant director. 8-bit Studio is animating the adaptation. Moreover, Munemasa Nakamoto will work on the scripts. The adaptation will be based on the eighth volume of the series. The website has also released a promotional video for the upcoming series.
