Ultraman is a banner which has thrilled fans of every generation. The legacy of Ultraman dates back to 1966. Almost six decades later, a reboot anime based on the hit series was first announced in 2019 by Netflix. And the banner’s loyal fans made it a success already. However, due to the pandemic, there were doubts about the return of the series. But, after three long years, Ultraman Season 2 is finally returning to the screens. The new Ultraman series closely follows the 2011 manga series. The original manga came out in the Monthly Hero’s magazine for nearly a decade. Eiichi Shimizu provided the art and story for the long-running series. Compilex started publishing the manga in November 2020. And, Viz Media releases the English version of the manga since 2015. Ultraman Season 2: New Visual And Cast Change!
Ultraman is part of the Ultra Franchise, started all the way back in 1966. It is one of the longest-running franchises in anime history. To date, it has multiple TV series, manga, toys, and games under its name. The recent anime adaptation ran for thirteen episodes. News of the second season was announced in August 2021. Additionally, during this week’s live stream event, Tsuburaya Productions unveiled a new visual for Ultraman Season 2. The promotional poster also updated the coming season’s premiere date.
Co-directors Kenji Kamiyama and Nobushi Aramaki assured more action and entertainment for the new season. Sola Digital Arts will return to work on the 3DCG of the show. They will collaborate with Production I.G in animating the series. Most importantly, the production team announced a new cast member to the series. Junichi Suwabe is the newest addition to the main cast. He will voice Alien Pedanto in the upcoming season. Another addition to the cast is Tomoaki Maeno. Maeno will replace Tatsuhisa Suzuki for the role of Ultraman Taro.
Expected Plot!
Ultraman Season 1 draws its story from the original text. The pilot season centered around Shinjiro, the new Ultraman. And it serves as an origin story with most of the action revolving around his growth. In the show, the alien teenager realizes that his father is the Ultraman. Thus, with new dangers threatening his world, Shinjiro takes up the mantle from his father. This makes him the new Ultraman of the world. Now, the next season will introduce a new villain to go against Shinjiro.
Season 2 will continue with Shinjiro’s ongoing conflicts. In addition to the main hero, the story will also introduce his new allies. As suggested by the initial motion poster, the team of six is going to come together once again. Thus, fans can expect to see the Ultra 6 brothers reunited. On top of this, the makers have teased to pit Shinjiro against Alien Pedanto. The new villain is terrorist planning to conquer Earth and terrorize it. So, the teenage hero will need all his friends’ help in facing the invasion.

Ultraman Season 2: Release Date
The new poster of Ultraman has hinted at the release window of the next season. Ultraman Season 2 is all set to resume in April 2022. Unfortunately, there isn’t a confirmed release date yet.
