Welcome To The Ballroom, also known as Ballroom E Youkoso in Japanese, is a sports comedy anime series. Production IG picked up the manga of the same title by Tomo Takeuchi to produce this show. The premiere episode of the television series adaptation hit the screens back on July 9, 2017. It ran for a total of 24 episodes and concluded in December of the same year. Even after more than three years, fans are still waiting for its sequel to get the green flag.
Welcome To The Ballroom Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?
Sports anime usually perform well all over the world, especially if they have a decent storyline and character development. The same happened with this show as well. The Ballroom E Youkoso anime received a tremendous response upon its arrival from a global audience. Production IG was showered with compliments and admiration for its brilliant animation job in the series. Everything about the anime was close to perfect, and it left its viewers craving for more content. However, the audience now has only one complaint, which is the silence maintained by the creators. The officials are yet to reveal the future of the series. As a result, we still don’t have any hint about whether there will be Welcome To The Ballroom Season 2 or not. Given that there’s a huge demand for its return, the dedicated fanbase of the show is still hopeful for the second installment.
Do The Makers Have Enough Source Material?
As we mentioned, this sports drama follows its plot from a manga series. Tomo Takeuchi began the serialization of the Ballroom E Youkoso manga series back in 2011. He has published ten books so far, with the last one being published in January 2020. The poor health of Takeuchi slowed down the publication of this manga. The first season of the anime even surpassed the manga’s storyline due to the same reason.
Its creators ensure that the anime does not take a completely different route, although there will be few changes. Currently, Production IG does not have enough source material to produce a full-fledged 24 episode installment of Welcome To The Ballroom Season 2. As a result, the fans have to wait until the author publishes a few more volumes.
Ballroom E Youkoso: Plot Details!

However, he continuously tries to find his goal. One day when some people bully him for money, a man named Kaname Sengoku appears and saves him. He even invites Tatara to his dance studio. After joining the studio, Tatara becomes a dancer and enters a competitive world of Ballroom dancing.
Welcome To The Ballroom Season 2: Will There Be A Sequel?
After a great critical reception and good response from the viewers, fans of the sports anime thought the sequel would arrive in no time. However, it has been three years, and it didn’t happen so far. The show has a great score of 8.20 on MAL and is quite popular as well. Despite that, fans are yet to see the sequel and the main reason behind this is the lack of its source material. Production IG has to wait for several new volumes of its manga series before renewing Welcome To The Ballroom Season 2. So, the chances for the anime’s sequel will revive once the author begins to publish some new chapters.
